About IIRR

We envision a world of equity, justice and peace where people achieve their full potential and live lives of quality and dignity in harmony with the environment.

IIRR is a research, educational and community development organization focused on empowerment, innovation and transformation to address rural poverty. IIRR currently operates in eight developing countries: Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Myanmar, Philippines, South Sudan, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Each year through training, study programs, south-south exchange, technical support, coaching and projects partnership, we influence over 100,000 people to become agents of learning and advocates for change in their communities.

VISION

We envision a world of equity, justice and peace where people achieve their full potential and live lives of quality and dignity in harmony with the environment.

We understand that poverty is interlocking and caused by education deficiencies, conflict, gender inequality, economic marginalization,  poor health and malnutrition, environmental degradation and natural disasters. By implementing the Credo of Rural Reconstruction, IIRR unleashes the potential of the rural poor so that they can overcome poverty and live healthy and sustainable lives

MISSION

We enable marginalized rural communities to develop innovative and practical community-led solutions toward alleviating their poverty on a sustainable basis and improving their quality of life. We share the results of our work widely to enable rural communities everywhere to benefit.
